The Northern Ireland Agri-Food Better Regulation and Simplification Review Panel was asked by the Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) and the Minister for the Environment (DOE) to review the regulations that apply in the agri-food sector in Northern Ireland with a view to simplifying and reducing the administrative burden placed on farmers and the industry generally. The panel reported in April 2009 and DARD published their report and sought additional comments through an informal consultation which ended in September. This paper sets out the DARD response to the Independent Review.
