This report is based on information gathered under the long-running Wildlife Incident Investigation Scheme (WIIS). WIIS monitors the unwanted effects on wildlife through misuse, abuse or approved use of pesticides. The scheme helps monitor the way pesticides are used and their effect. It assesses how people use pesticides and how well they understand the laws relating to these chemicals and protecting wildlife. WIIS also helps to assess whether pesticides are behaving as predicted once released into the environment. So it shows how well the risk assessment and approval process is working.
